Motivation - Get Started

Some days I don't have any motivation. I’m exhausted, overbooked, stressed, and just feel like staying in bed. We all have these days where we plan to work out and know that we should, but when it’s time to lace up your shoes…you just don't want to go.

I have learned over the years that I am totally capable of doing things I don't feel like doing. It’s natural to have off days, we all do, and if you're truly tired and need the rest then you should listen to your body. But it can become a hard habit to break if you skip out on your workouts too often.

So how do I stay motivated day after day? The key for me has been consistency and here are a few more tips.

  • Get out there. Start with 5 minutes.
  • Get selfish about your exercise time and put it on your calendar.
  • Don't get caught up in the “all or nothing” mindset.
  • What ever you do, make it fun, find an activity you enjoy.
