With the new year upon us, we are busy setting new goals, but we don't always follow through. Whether it is because we cannot make it to the gym or find the time to prepare nutritious foods, many of us oftentimes revert back to old habits despite the best intentions.
Here are some simple tips to help you stay on track during the busy new year.
- - Make exercise part of your routine and fit it into your normal schedule. Start out exercising three days a week and get that into your routine. As your body adapts and you feel more energetic, you can increase from there.
- - Find a partner or teammate so that you can help motivate each other. Join a formal gym rather than just exercising at home.
- - Always make sure you eat three proper meals a day. Keep light, healthy snacks on hand such as Greek yogurt, fruits, vegetables, and nuts.
- - To save time, exercise during your work lunch hour. Work out even if it is only for half an hour, but make sure that you still get a decent lunch in.
Most importantly, stay focused on your goals to eat healthier and exercise more and concentrate on the rewards. Make exercise a priority on your list of things to do everyday.
